Movie making industry is one of the largest industries in the world, feeding huge numbers of people both directly and indirectly. An important classification here would be between those employed directly and those employed indirectly.
For instance, a movie needs a camera. That is inevitable and it's core requirement. When people consider employment and employing ability scale, they usually count only those people who are directly involved in the art of film making and camera work.
But behind the scenes of behind the scenes, people who manufacture lenses, masters of optometry and other optical sciences are forever kept in work because of the undying cycle of the requirement for better and better goods, that is in this case, better lenses, cameras and the newer era bringing about all the changes.
Apart from the fact that the movie industry is a huge employer and feeder for a large number of people and their families, it is also the most popular, most glittering and most talented and creative industry in the world. Not that people in other industries like Healthcare or Information Technology are not creative or talented but they do not have to churn out highly creative art forms and set pieces every once in a while.
They can do it in a more laid back fashion, outside the glare of people and popular media and their mistakes are never highlighted, just forgotten on the long pages of history.
Apart from the fact that the movie industry with the new era of movie technologies is a very popular one, it carries with it a huge burden of social commentary, reflection of the type of society that we live in and the light that has to be shed on the future with all it's intricately changing crests and troughs.
